Segment-based Light Transport Simulation

DescriptionWe introduce a novel segment-based framework for light transport simulation, efficiently assembling paths from disconnected segments. Our method includes innovative segment sampling techniques and corresponding estimation strategies. To demonstrate its strengths, we propose a robust bidirectional path filtering prototype, achieving superior rendering quality and faster convergence than state-of-the-art methods.
