SUMMARY:Feature-Aligned Parametrization in Penner Coordinates
DESCRIPTION:Ryan Capouellez and Rodrigo Singh (New York University), Marti
n Heistermann and David Bommes (University of Bern), and Denis Zorin (New
York University)\n\nWe extend Penner-coordinate-based methods for seamless
parametrizations to surfaces with sharp features to which the parametriza
tion needs to be aligned. We describe a two-phase method to efficiently m
inimize feature constraint residual errors. We demonstrate that the resul
ting algorithm works robustly on the Thingi10k dataset, completing the qua
 d mesh generation pipeline.\n\nInterest Area: Research & Education\n\nReco
rding: Livestreamed, Not Livestreamed, Recorded, Not Recorded\n\nRegistrat
ion Category: Full Conference, Virtual Access, Wednesday\n\nSession Chair:
Mirela Ben-Chen (Technion – Israel Institute of Technology)\n\n
