End-to-end Surface Optimization for Light Control

DescriptionDesigning freeform surfaces to reflect or refract light to achieve target light distributions is a challenging inverse problem. We propose an end-to-end optimization strategy using a novel differentiable rendering model driven by image errors, combined with face-based optimal transport initialization and geometric constraints, to achieve high-quality final physical results.
