Digital Animation of Powder-Snow Avalanches

DescriptionPowder-snow avalanches are natural phenomena that result from an instability in the snow cover on a mountain relief. This paper introduces a physically-based framework to simulate powder-snow avalanches under complex terrains, allowing us to animate the turbulent snow cloud dynamics within the avalanche in a visually realistic way.
