DescriptionWe are looking for a visionary expert in image processing and computational photography to join Huawei’s imaging R&D team. As the imaging industry is rapidly evolving under the influence of AIGC, this role will focus on leveraging large models to revolutionize photo capture, editing, enhancement, and post-processing—establishing industry-defining breakthroughs in user experience and visual quality.
This is a strategic position aimed at driving next-generation imaging competitiveness, with opportunities for collaboration across academic and industry partners.
Responsibilities:
1. Architect and lead the development of core algorithms for next-generation image processing across the entire pipeline—from image acquisition to post-processing—by harnessing the capabilities of AIGC and multimodal large models.
2. Drive the resolution of critical challenges in image quality, perceptual aesthetics, and user interaction by introducing innovative, AI-native solutions with disruptive potential.
3. Maintain deep insight into emerging trends in computational photography and generative vision technologies; define and execute technical roadmaps that lead the industry by a full generation.
4. Translate cutting-edge research into production-ready systems that deliver tangible product value and exceptional user experiences at scale.
5. Build and sustain strategic collaborations with leading academic and industrial institutions to foster talent development and advance Huawei’s leadership in AI-powered imaging.

Description of Position:
PhD; Full-Time; Desired Level of Education: Master’s degree
Other Skills or Experience:
1. Master’s degree or above with expereience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related disciplines (Ph.D. preferred).
2. Strong background in image generation, editing, restoration, and video understanding; hands-on experience in building models for real-world deployment.
3. Proficiency in multimodal vision-language models, generative diffusion models, and foundational AIGC methods.
4. Solid theoretical foundation in CV and ML, with practical experience in applying state-of-the-art techniques to production-scale applications.
5. Track record of excellence in either top-tier industry settings or world-class academic research.
