Computer Vision Intern Coral Gables, Florida
University of Miami Visual Experiences Studio Lab November 2022 – Present
• Integrating object detection CNN model for processing live video frames of shape objects using TensorFlow with Unity and C++ into HoloLens 2 AR smart assistant app, achieving 97% model accuracy
• Implementing a HMD to generate surrounding 3D map spaces and track/measure general eye gaze of users with SLAM Machine Perception Services outputting 3D heat map recordings of user attention

• Applied Random Forest model in Sklearn for multi-class classification to predict protein secondary structure, optimizing with AutoML to achieve 94% accuracy and a 90% F1 score
TECHNICAL PROJECTS
Mood-Based Music Recommender | Personal Project (~30 hours)
• Utilized Pandas to design a 20,000+ song database by filtering & merging various public databases
• Created mood-playlist system by matching user ratings to similar groups using KNN algorithm in Sklearn
• Developed linear regression model with PyTorch to predict arousal-valence scores for songs within a [-1, 1] range, achieving a MSE score 0.2 and R-squared of 0.88
Ocular Disease Classifier | Research Project (~20 hours)
• Leveraged Vision Transformer (DINOv2) model with few-shot learning using PyTorch for ocular disease classification, benchmarking against CNN, MLP, DNN, and other models
• Achieved state-of-the-art performance surpassing all models with max F1 score of 96% and accuracy 97%
Speech Transcription Model | Personal Project (~30 hours)
• Developed, implemented, and tuned RNN model with Tensorboard on 40,000+ dataset for speech to text translation obtaining a 9% character error rate and 96% word-level accuracy
Smart Search Application | Published App (~40 hours)
• Built React Smart-Browser UI with JavaScript for user search input and developed Flask/Python server integrating YouTube and OpenAI APIs to output relevant summaries, articles, and videos achieving 1.5 seconds average response time and over 5,000 processed search queries
