Biography
Steve DiPaola (PhD), Professor, Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts & Technology, and Director, iViz Lab. As a cognitive scientist and artist, Steve is most known for his AI-based computational creativity and 3D facial expression systems, including co-creations in performance/movement/dance. He strives to make computational systems bend more to the human experience by incorporating biological, cognitive and behavior knowledge models. His art has been exhibited internationally including at the AIR and Tibor de Nagy (NYC), Tenderpixel Gallery (London), Cambridge University’s Kings Art Centre, Whitney Museum, MIT Museum, and Smithsonian. Prior to SFU, Steve was at Stanford and NYIT.
