Ben Liang

Biography
Ben Liang is an experienced FX TD and look development artist with over a decade in the visual effects industry. He began his career at PIXOMONDO, contributing to films such as Star Trek and Oblivion. He later founded N Layer Studio, leading high-end commercial projects across Asia that pushed the boundaries of CG in advertising.
Ben holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from China and a Master of Design Technology from Victoria University of Wellington. This unique combination of spatial awareness and technical expertise informs both his visual work and pipeline design.
For End of Summer, Ben served as technical supervisor, FX and look development artist. He created the film’s stylized textures and assets, implemented a USD pipeline in Houdini, and developed custom Python tools to streamline production.
Ben’s extensive experience has given him a near-intuitive ability to translate stories into visuals with precision—almost as if he can read the writer’s mind. His keen understanding of diverse artistic sensibilities allows him to craft imagery that resonates emotionally and culturally, ensuring the visual narrative aligns seamlessly with the original creative vision.
