Biography
Crane He Chen is an R&D scientist at Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm. She earned her Ph.D. in computer graphics and geometry processing from Johns Hopkins University in 2024. Her work focuses on technical innovations for movie production, particularly geometry tools for modeling and animation in both classical and machine learning settings, supporting the visual storytelling behind ILM’s iconic films. Outside of films, she enjoys mathematics and art, with a special interest in symmetry and tiling.
