Richard Wright

Biography
Richard Wright is an artist whose work includes many pioneering digital animations and interactive works, such as “Heliocentrum” (1995) and “The Bank of Time” (2001), nominated for a BAFTA award.
Tantalum Memorial (2008) (made as Harwood, Wright, Yokokoji) was a memorial to the ‘coltan wars’ in the Congo and won the transmediale.09 award in Berlin. In 2015-16 he was artist-in-residence at the British Library where he built “The Elastic System”.
He is Lecturer in Animation and VFX at Royal Holloway University, holds a PhD in the aesthetics of digital animation and has published over 40 essays on art and technology.
