Biography
Kalina is interested in the intersection of computer graphics, data visualization, and human-centered computing. She spent 10 years creating cinematic scientific visualization at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) where she served as Director of the Visualization Program Office and Director of the Advanced Visualization Lab. She worked at The New York Times to tell visual data stories. She worked at the intersection of 3D + AI + HCI at Autodesk Research. She has volunteered with SIGGRAPH for a decade, including chairing the Courses program in 2025 and directing the Computer Animation Festival in 2023.
